marriottplayer asked: Hi Ms. Birnbach
I too am graduating high school this week and I've always loved the Classics, so I already have an idea on what to wear (blue blazer, khakis, and stripped tie, yes?).
However, my question is pertaining to: my friend's Grad party that same night. I plan to wear the blue blazer to the party but I'm still unsure of what else to add — what...

Dear Caroline,
I really do not know how to mesh the tumblr with the facebook (which is a good reason to have kids) but a number of people are offering you advice on our True Prep page on Facebook.
The point is, no matter how old we are, or where we find ourselves in life, we’ve all been bullied at some time or another. And you have friends in the True Prep clubhouse.

January Jones, Maternity Model? →
It may not be Miss Jones’ fault. In these crass and coarse days of TMZ (aka the 21st century), there is no one to help the obliviously tasteless amongst us. January Jones is a pretty woman, and is trying to keep the father of her baby a secret, in addition to — I suppose — keeping up appearances and building her name. Those are all time-consuming activities. However,

New & Improved!
Mary, my cybermentor, has somehow done something to this thingy —(could I be clearer? I think not) — and now you can post your comments here.
So please do that, while I go to the gym to improve my packaging.
Thank you,
Lisa

First of all, I am a true fan of yours and adore True Prep, as well as the original version that my mother has saved! So much fun, and always gives me a smile.
I am a 16 year old, and I just wanted to know your thoughts and teenagers judging and making comments about other teenagers for fitting the "preppy" stereotype. I am just wondering what you would...

I felt like I should write to you before your tumblr gets flooded with other fan messages! I may or may not be too late for that..
I just wanted to say hi and thank you for both of your wonderful books! I got a hold of an old copy of The Official Preppy Handbook and I cannot say how happy I was to find out that there are indeed other people who are like me!...

Disappointed?
I have a friend who checked in with me yesterday after 6 pm. She was a little let down that the world didn’t end at the cocktail hour.
I scolded her for such negative thinking. If the world had come to an end yesterday, she would have nothing to complain about today. Or next week. I’m wired to be an optimist, even when events in my life or the world would suggest...
marriottplayer asked: Hello Lisa
Are you allowed to tell us where you'll be traveling to in the future (for book signings and such)? I live in South Florida, and while it may not be as preppy as it was thirty years ago, it still has it's share of True Prep fans, no doubt.
Regards,

mylifeonshuffle-deactivated2013 asked: Lisa Birnbach, I am a huge fan of yours! I own both The Official Preppy Handbook (I had to search every online website to find a not-so-damaged copy) and True Prep, and I consider both books to be my Bible! I love reading them when I summer in the Hamptons ;-)
I hope to meet you one day!
Cheers,
J.

karolinez asked: Hi Lisa!
I just wanted to let you know that you're a huge inspiration to me, as well as young writers everywhere! Also, I'm really sad that I missed your book signing in Boston, I had to attend a club meeting at school and couldn't get out of it :( Any plans to make your way back to the land of the Boston Brahmin?

One blog every day? Don’t we want you, our fellow and sister citizens of planet Timewaster to always remain a little unsated?
Yearning is a good thing. Makes you feel virtuous and focused. I find since I’m overextended on the web I’ve lost my sense of accomplishment offline. I’m not blaming you.

CONFUSION (and I don't think it's jetlag)
Now that I’m — um — bl-gging [thanks, DV] — I have all this content to disseminate. If the same people read all three outlets, do I need to do all three? Won’t it become repetitive?
I like the idea that there is a place for longer thoughts and visuals (that would be here), but then Twitter and Facebook too? Isn’t this a bit too much saturation (or what...
What did I tell you?
The sideways photo of the Tommy Hilfiger Prepworld shop — though an incredibly appealing beach house — is not the house my family and I lived in in London in 1995. I knew I should get a child to do this for me. I knew it.
By the way, for those in and around L.A., the mysterious and adorable 800 square foot cottage will touch down in your city shortly. Expect to visit Planet Prep...
In which we experiment with blogging.
When I was asked to maintain the True Prep facebook page, I was game. (And as you must know by now — as I haven’t yet tired of declaring — “I’m a giver.”) Then I was asked to Tweet. Did I refuse? Do I try to deliver quality apercus on a daily basis? Now it’s come to this. My “bloggy thing” has been dormant, and frankly,...
